The 2019 Jiangxi Provincial Symposium of Clinical Blood Transfusion and the International

Association of Asia-Pacific Blood Types & Genomics Symposium were held

On April 24th 2018, the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the First Editorial Board of Asia-Pacific Journal of Blood Types and Genes’ (APJGB) was ceremoniously held in Jiangyin, which was sponsored by Jiangsu LIBO Medicine Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

On April 19th- 21st 2019, the 2019 Jiangxi Provincial Symposium of Clinical Blood Transfusion and the International Association of Asia-Pacific Blood Types & Genomics Symposium were ceremoniously held in Nanchang, kindly co-sponsored by Jiangxi Provincial Health Commission and Jiangxi Provincial People's Hospital.

For the opening ceremony, Chuanmei Zeng (deputy director of Jiangxi Provincial Health Commission) and Qiugen Li (the chairman of Jiangxi Provincial Health Care Association and the president of Jiangxi Provincial People's Hospital) made wonderful addresses respectively. Then Director Youwen Tan (on behalf of the Medical Administration Department of Jiangxi Provincial Health Commission), Prof. Jiwu Gong (on behalf of the International Association of Asia-Pacific Blood Types & Genomics), Prof. Baohua Qian (on behalf of the Military Clinical Blood Transfusion Management Committee), and Director Changxiang Sun (on behalf of the Jiangxi Provincial Blood Transfusion Association) made brief speeches giving high praise and best wishes to the symposiums.

After the preliminaries, Prof. Qiugen Li delivered a keynote speech on "The thoughts on the construction of medical union". Then Nobel Prize Laureate Sir/ Prof. Tim Hunt, Prof. Dimitri Svistunenko (from the University of Essex), Prof. Tongmao Zhao (from the National Institutes of Health), and Fang-Yeh Chu (director of the Taiwan Blood Transfusion Society), and other well-known experts in the field of blood transfusion were invited to give specific lectures, which were splendid and rich in contents.

The conference was grateful for the attendance of more than 300 delegates from over 150 medical institutions, with all attendees gaining new understandings in the applications of frontier research, newly available technology and new and improving procedures in blood transfusion. A large portion of delegates expressed their appreciation for the conference's supporting organizations and scientists who continued to provide a strong and guiding role in clinical and scientific research, and were kind enough to share their resources and expertise.
